Img.557 from Solar Energy (#G1)

Img.557 (#G1) Here is a photo of a set of actual devices included in the entire anti-cataclysmic system for generating electricity from solar energy that I (i.e. Dr. Jan Pajak) am installing and testing in my home. These devices are physical and actually existing representations of the main components of such a solar system illustrated in the diagram from Img.556 (#B1). The system shown here I put together makeshift on my garden to illustrate it to the reader. It includes the following devices visible in the above photo starting from the left edge of the photo towards the right edge, and going along the lowest wire: (1) a 120-watt "solar panel" with 72 photovoltaic cells, (2) a transparent box illustrating where the battery charging "controller" should be connected (actually this "controller" is built into the back of my "solar panel", hence it can NOT be visualized in this photo, although it exists in my house too), (3) 12 Volt "battery" of the "Gel" type with the capacity C=100 Ah and with the highest allowed current Imax ˂ 30 A, (4) universal "digital multimeter" (this meter represents various 12 Volt devices which in the system discussed here can be supplied directly from the battery, and thus which on the diagram from Img.556 (#B1) are represented by the symbol "car", e.g. car headlights, motors, starters, fans, etc.). The devices shown along the top wire connected to the battery are - (5) a 600/1200 Watt "inverter" voltage converter, while connected to this "inverter" at the top of the picture is - (6) a two-tube fluorescent "light" with two fluorescent tubes of 35 Watt each (instead of this light, in practice with my solar system I power my 42 inch LG TV every day); at the bottom under the "light" is - (7) my Fujitsu "laptop" computer theoretically consuming 60 Watt of electricity (practically it consumes about twice as much) - i.e. the only device shown on the above photograph, which was NOT purchased recently, because I have been using it for a very long time, and thus which is NOT listed in "Table #E1". I have summarized the purchase costs of the above devices in "Table #E1".
