Img.395 (#D4):
A castle well from the post-Teutonic castle of Gniew, Northern Poland. The photograph was taken in July 2004. The person photographed is me (Dr. Jan Pajak). Looking into this well from the place from which I am looking into it, one can clearly see in it the entrance to the dungeons and castle underground. In turn, these dungeons always had at least one exit located in the woods far beyond the castle walls.
