Img.392 from Milicz (#D1)

Img.392 (#D1): This photo was taken in July 2004 from the top of the dyke of today's Barycz River. The lens of the photographer's camera was directed to the north. The photo shows the present-day appearance of the ancient fortified settlement "Chmielnik" from which today's Milicz originated. This fortified settlement is that circular elevation of land in the center of the photo, under which two sizable trees are growing, while archaeologists can be seen working (one of them in a white shirt). The buildings of the village visible beyond the fortified settlement on the horizon, is the village of Wszewilki near Milicz (i.e. this village, in the final part of which, with the different name Stawczyk, I was born in 1946)
